Bayanihan for Wellness &
Health Futures
With the implementation of Universal Health Care, primary health care as delivered at the barangay level occupies an important role. At this level, the local health office is expected to ensure wellness in the community by periodically monitoring the health status of the people and implementing general check-ups among the people. Cases that need additional health intervention are then referred to hospitals. The system is designed to decongest hospitals so it could focus more on advanced cases.
As a strategic intervention, the Foundation shall do the following:
-
Train the BHW in both health interventions and administrative work. The health training should enable the BHWs to teach/train members of the community to better care for the household.
-
Conduct general lectures of the benefit of key members of the family to empower them in handling issues related on mental and sexual health.
The Foundation may work with established organizations to implement service missions. But these should be implemented with accompanying community training related to the mission.

Expanding Access to Breast Health Through Patient Assistance
The Breast Care Program - Patient Assistance Initiative further demonstrated the importance of early detection and strengthened EZF’s commitment to promoting breast health awareness and accessible healthcare services among underserved members of the community.

Breast Care Program: Patient Assistance for Mammogram and Breast Ultrasound
These diagnostic procedures are important in identifying early signs of breast abnormalities, which can help beneficiaries become more aware of their health condition and encourage them to seek timely medical care if needed.
