Expanding Access to Breast Health Through Patient Assistance
On August 15, 2026, the E. Zobel Foundation, Inc. (EZF), through its Breast Care Program – Patient Assistance Initiative, successfully provided assistance to beneficiaries who underwent breast diagnostic procedures at St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The activity formed part of EZF’s continuing efforts to promote preventive healthcare and improve access to essential breast screening and diagnostic services, particularly for individuals who face financial barriers to medical care.
A total of eight (8) beneficiaries were assisted during the activity. Four (4) beneficiaries underwent breast ultrasound examinations, while four (4) beneficiaries received mammography services. These diagnostic procedures play an important role in the early detection and evaluation of breast abnormalities and help facilitate timely medical consultation, appropriate management, and necessary follow-up care.
The activity was made possible through the financial assistance provided by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), which supported the beneficiaries’ diagnostic procedures. The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Calatagan also provided transportation assistance, ensuring the safe and convenient travel of the beneficiaries to and from the medical facility.
Through the collaborative efforts of EZF, PCSO, and the LGU of Calatagan, the beneficiaries were able to access essential breast health services while minimizing the financial and logistical challenges associated with diagnostic screening. The activity further demonstrated the importance of early detection and strengthened EZF’s commitment to promoting breast health awareness and accessible healthcare services among underserved members of the community. Through the Breast Care Program, EZF continues to empower individuals to take proactive steps toward early detection, proper medical care, and improved overall well-being.
