Anti Bullying Seminar with Calatagan MPS
CALATAGAN, BATANGAS – On July 15, 2026, the E. Zobel Foundation, Inc. (EZF), in partnership with the Calatagan Municipal Police Station, conducted an Anti-Bullying Seminar held at Enzo Tech Social Hall, with PMSg Lodjie Coz the Chief Police Community Relations of Calatagan MPS serving as the guest speaker. The seminar was conducted in two sessions, morning session for Grade 12 students and afternoon session for Grade 11 students.
The seminar emphasized the impact of bullying reaches far beyond the victim. According to PMSg Coz, those who experience bullying often suffer from anxiety, fear, low self-esteem, declining academic or work performance, depression, and in severe cases, self-harm or withdrawal from school and social activities. He added that bullies themselves are also affected, as repeated aggressive behavior may lead to future conflicts, problems with authority, and even violence. Bystanders often experience guilt, fear, and helplessness, while the entire community loses trust, respect, and its sense of safety.
Participants were encouraged to speak up against bullying, support victims, and report incidents to trusted adults or authorities.
The discussion also highlighted the important role of parents, teachers, and community leaders. Establishing clear policies, listening carefully to concerns, investigating reports fairly, and helping bullies understand the consequences of their actions are essential steps toward creating a respectful environment. Encouraging empathy, kindness, and inclusion in everyday interactions helps build stronger and healthier communities.
The activity reinforced the message that "Bullying ends where kindness begins." By choosing respect, compassion, and courage, everyone can help create communities where people feel safe, valued, and empowered.
