BHW Meeting February Conference
On February 23, 2026, the E. Zobel Foundation, Inc. (EZF) successfully conducted a Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Coordination Meeting at Enzotech, Calatagan, Batangas. The activity was attended by twenty-four (24) BHWs representing various barangays across the municipality of Calatagan.
The meeting commenced with a comprehensive discussion on patients scheduled for breast ultrasound and mammography at St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Updates were provided on patient preparation, scheduling coordination, and follow-up procedures to ensure that all identified beneficiaries receive appropriate diagnostic services. EZF also encouraged the BHWs to intensify house-to-house visits within their respective communities to reach more women for breast health screening and education. To strengthen implementation and provide direct support, EZF staff and officers committed to accompany the BHWs during community visits and outreach activities.
The meeting concluded with an open consultation, during which EZF gathered inputs from the BHWs regarding priority training needs that would further enhance their knowledge, competencies, and effectiveness in delivering community health services. The identified training needs will guide the planning and implementation of future capacity-building programs for BHWs.
Overall, the meeting strengthened coordination between EZF and the Barangay Health Workers and reinforced their shared commitment to promoting women’s health, early detection of breast conditions, and community-based health education in Calatagan.
