Bayanihan For Wellness and Health Futures
Last October 28, 2025, the E. Zobel Foundation, Inc. (EZF), in partnership with Generika Drugstore, successfully conducted a Health Education Seminar titled “Bayanihan for Wellness and Health Futures.” The event was held at the Enzotech Function Hall, Brgy. Gulod, Calatagan, Batangas, and was attended by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) from the different barangays of the Municipality of Calatagan, EZF retirees, and several PTA officers from Enzotech.
This meaningful activity was part of EZF’s continuous advocacy to promote wellness and empower the community through health awareness and education. The program aimed to provide participants with deeper knowledge about generic medicines, highlighting their importance in ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all.
The invited resource speaker from Generika Drugstore gave a comprehensive discussion about the differences between generic and branded medicines, their effectiveness, and the reasons behind the lower cost of generic products. The speaker emphasized that generic medicines contain the same active ingredients as branded ones and are equally effective, making them a practical choice for many Filipino families- "Abot Kaya sa Generika".
Aside from the educational session, Generika Drugstore also extended its support by offering free health services to the participants. Attendees were able to avail of free blood pressure check-ups and blood sugar testing, which helped raise awareness about the importance of regular health monitoring. In addition, free medicines were distributed as giveaways to participants.
To further promote community wellness, an invited supplier of Generika also participated in the event by providing free reading glasses to those in need, especially the elderly participants and retirees. This thoughtful gesture brought smiles to many attendees and highlighted the collaborative effort of the organizations involved.
The program concluded with expressions of gratitude from the participants, who appreciated both the informative lecture and the health services provided. The event not only enriched the participants’ understanding of healthcare options but also reflected the true essence of bayanihan—working together towards promoting wellness, learning, and a healthier community.
